New Employee Enrollment FAQs
New to DriveTime? Need to Enroll in Benefits?
Welcome to the DriveTime team! As a new member, you may have some questions about the benefits and how to enroll. Below are the top frequently asked questions as well as important enrollment information.
1. Where do I enroll?
You enroll using the Self Service tool. We will contact you to assist you in your enrollment but if you are comfortable, you can use our enrollment tutorial and get started. We will let you know if you made any mistakes. If you have not been contacted or just want to get a jump start on enrollment, please give us a call at 800-DRV-TIME.
2. Can I enroll using my home computer?
Yes, if you feel comfortable enrolling on your own, you can enroll from any computer that has internet access. If you have any trouble with enrollment you can contact the Benefits Department at 800-DRV-TIME between 9:00am and 5:00pm PST.
3. What is my enrollment deadline?
Your enrollment deadline is your 60th calendar day of employment at DriveTime.
4. What is my user id for Self Service?
Your user id is your 5 digit employee identification number.
5. What if I forgot my password?
Contact Benefits or Payroll at 800-DRV-TIME option 1 and we can reset your password.
6. When are my benefits active?
Your benefits are active on your 61st calendar day of employment at DriveTime.
7. How do I add my dependents?
The first page of your benefit enrollment is the dependent screen. To add a dependent, press the ADD button and fill out the form. You will need to do this for each dependent that will be covered on your insurance. For more information, see the Enrollment Tutorial.
8. What is the Wellness discount?
DriveTime is committed to promoting wellness in our employees. If you enroll in the LifeTime Wellness Plan you will be required to take a proactive approach to maintaining your health by participating in biometric screenings, health coaching, health risk assessments and attending your recommended annual physician visits. As a reward, DriveTime offers a substantial premium discount.
9. Can I change my benefits at any time?
No. Because medical, dental, and vision coverages are pre-tax deductions we are required by law to only allow benefit changes during the following times: New Hire Enrollment, Open Enrollment (yearly), and at a Family Status Change (FSC). Be sure to make your elections before your deadline or you might have to wait until the following year's Open Enrollment.
10. Will I receive cards for medical, dental and vision?
Yes and no. If you are enrolled, you will receive a card from UHC. MetLife and VSP do not issue cards and your provider will verify your coverage using your SSN. If you enroll in the Health Reimbursement Account Medical Plan or Flexible Spending Account, you will also receive two debit cards.
11. I only want Short Term Disability because DriveTime pays for it, is this possible?
No. The STD and LTD coverages are bundled. This means that if you are enrolled in one, you have to be enrolled in the other. You will pay for the LTD and DriveTime pays for the more-expensive STD coverage.
12. What is required for Right of Refusal?
In order to qualify for Right of Refusal you must be enrolled in an alternative medical insurance plan that is paid for via employee deduction. State assistance and no-cost military coverages do not meet the requirements. You will need to submit a completed RoR form with proof of alternate coverage and payment of alternate coverage.
13. Where can I view my choices and/or deductions?
You can view your benefits and costs on Self Service by clicking on Benefits Summary.
